Mencoba Koneksi Internet Unlimited GSM 3 Paket Quota 500MB per bulan

Demikian temen-temen informasi singkat tentang JD’s Auto Speed Tester.

15 tips on how to speed up your computer

Delete unwanted files

When I say to delete unwanted files, I do not mean you should go around your computer and delete any file you do not want. In this case, I’m talking about the files that you have created yourself, and are totally aware of what they are. For example if you created a Microsoft word document and you no longer need it, and never will, then I suggest you delete that file. This is the kind of junk that clogs up your computer. You have to ask yourself, “Do you really need it?”
Files that you have created such as documents and image files can be safely deleted by going to the file on your computer, right clicking on its, and choosing delete from the menu. Keeping your computer or organized and junk free, is a great way to speed up your computer.

Delete hidden junk filesFree PC Matic Scan

Hidden or temporary files are created without the user knowing. All you have to do is open files, browse the Internet, install programs, and more files are created in the background. There is so much happening in the background that most people are unaware of and do not know that this area exists. This is something you are going to have to learn about if you want to speed up your computer.
Here is an article about safely deleting temporary files.

Remove unwanted programs

Are you one of those people that constantly download programs and install them onto your computer? Every software program you have on your computer is taking up space. It is not only taking up space, but it might also be checking for updates and connecting to the Internet. It also might be starting up when your computer starts up. There are so many good reasons why you should remove unwanted programs.
Here is an article that shows you how to safely remove or delete programs from your computer.
Here is another article about removing a program from Windows Vista.
After you have removed the software program that you did not want, make sure you restart your computer to complete the process.

Defrag to speed up your computer

speed up your computer Check & Fix system errors; Speed Up your PC by 300% times!
When you install programs and save files on your computer, the files are automatically saved to the closest available space on your hard drive. This means that files for your programs are fragmented if your hard disk drive is not organized correctly. This is why we need to de-frag our computer to place the files back together and to place the most frequently used files at the front for easy access.
You should defrag your computer at least once a week if you use your computer often. If you do not use your computer that often, then you can defrag less often.
If you are using the Windows disk defragmenter which is located at start menu>accessories>system tools>disk defragmenter, you can choose to “analyze” first before you choose defrag. This feature will tell you if you need to perform this task or not.
Here is a simple way to use the Windows disk defragmenter to defrag your computer hard drive.

Disk CleanUp

Disk CleanUp comes free with Windows and will get rid of the rest of the junk files that you have missed. Go to start menu>accessories>system tools>disk cleanup. You can see more information about this system tool on my computer maintenance checklist.

Always pay for a virus program!

By all means, you can waste your time trying to find the best free anti-virus program, but do you really want to risk it.
Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a free anti-virus program. In fact I will recommend Avast as my number one freebie. However, even though this proved to be secure, it is safer to have the extra security features that come with the paid versions. Now days most new antivirus also come with a firewall that if they do not, Windows provides a perfectly good firewall for free.
Over the past 25 years I have tested at least 10 paid virus programs and have ended up with Avast running on my computer. It does not annoy me, it is not asked be stupid questions that I cannot answer, and is not make me deal with difficult settings. I like a program that just does its job.
Please see Top 10 tips to protect yourself from viruses! And my top virus removal software.
If you do not have a virus program installed you are risking everything! Sometimes your computer will gradually slow down when it gets a virus, and other times it will be crashing within minutes. Is that really worth the hassle?

Avoid multitasking with large programs

If you’re anything like me, you will have 20 Windows open at the same time, with your Internet browser having at least 15 tabs opened as well. Yes I know it is crazy and I’m trying to reform. I have a lot of experience in multitasking and have realized that some programs cannot be open at the same time as others. For example you should not be running a large program like Photoshop or Pinnacle video studio, while running a virus scan at the same time. We all know what the right thing to do is, but we just can’t help ourselves.
Warning: Working on 20 programs at the same time is not good if you are trying to speed up your computer!

Use an external hard drive for backup

Nowadays there is no excuse for not backing up your files! It is unbelievably cheap to buy an external hard drive or even a portable USB flash drive to store backup files on. Both these portable devices are simple to connect to the computer via a USB plug. Once connected, you will find the device if you go to your start menu and then press on computer. For older versions of Windows it will be called my computer.
Please see: what is an external hard drive and why do I need one?
Also see this video on YouTube: how to move files around on your computer.
You can use these devices to store all of your files on, leaving your computer clean and free to work on.

Update programs regularly

Every program on your computer must be updated regularly. If you do not do this, you will find that you will get problems, guaranteed! Even Windows itself needs updating, along with any other applications and games, and even hidden device driver software.
To see if your device drivers are performing properly you can go to the Control Panel, click on system, advanced settings, and then you will find device manager under the hardware tab.
Here is an article: what are device drivers and why do I need them?
I use a program called Driver Finder. Most computers need a program like this because having outdated driver software on your computer can cause horrendous problems. Having the wrong driver software on your computer has been known to cause black screens, blue screens, and total computer crashes.
To find out if Windows needs updating, simply go to your start menu and type in the search section, “Windows update”. A link will appear in the menu, click on it to see your details. See the screen shot below.

Upgrade your computer memory

When you buy a new computer now days it should come with a minimum of 2 GB of memory installed. This should be okay for a year or two, however as times change, you will eventually need to upgrade your memory.
Older computers are in an even worse situation. People are using old computers to do new things that these computers were not made for. Upgrading your computer memory and increasing your hard drive size can help speed up an old computer.
When upgrading your computer memory in order to speed up your computer, there are two options, to do it yourself or get someone else to do it for you. If you are seriously hopeless with technical stuff, like my friend Deb, I would suggest you take it to a computer store for the upgrade.
If you are willing to give it a go you can buy computer memory online (making sure you have the right type) and do it yourself.
Please see this article: upgrade computer memory

5 more quick tips on how to speed up your computer:

  1. Keeping a clean computer means a faster computer. Therefore you should always organize your computer files in a way that makes them easy to find and also easy to backup.
  2. When you boot into your computer it is not only the Windows operating system that is starting, as most people have many other programs starting at the same time. To speed up this process you need to disable startup programs.
  3. A great way to speed up your computer is not to overwork it in the first place. For example most people have five or six programs open at the same time and they really aren’t using all of them. Close down programs you are not using.
  4. Keep up with your computer maintenance as it is will speed up your computer just by doing this.
  5. Another good way to speed up your computer is to disable automatic updates on certain programs. Did you know that programs are checking the Internet every time you start your computer to see if they need to be updated or not?I am not talking about disabling Windows automatic updates as it is really all the other little programs that are doing the damage. If you have a notification icon in the notification area you can usually right click on it to get to the settings and disable the updates that way.
  6. And one extra. Try and disable indexing to speed up the computer.

Install a program to do it all for you! Speed up your computer!

A software program will not upgrade your memory but it will clean out all the junk files, detect Malware, delete unused registry keys, Automatic Driver updates, and more.  At the moment I am using PC Matic to maintain everything for me. This software is amazing and has won a number of top awards. You can get a free scan for your computer to see how it works before you buy.

A free program to recover (Recuva) and restore accidentally deleted pictures, photos, and files

Sooner or later you will be desperate to find out how to recover deleted files, because accidentally deleting your precious pictures, photos, and files is bound to happen to anyone. I hope that you do not encounter this dilemma, however if you do, you may possibly have a chance to recover deleted files. One way is to get a professional IT guy that specializes in file or data recovery, which in itself can be very expensive. Maybe you are recovering files from a crashed hard drive and haven’t actually deleted anything or maybe you want to recover deleted pictures from your digital camera. This article is about how to recover deleted files free using software but if you have a crashed hard drive then this is a different story altogether.
Firstly we need to know what has happened to our deleted files so that we can learn which action is best to recover deleted files.

What does Windows do with deleted pictures, photos, and files?

When you delete a file from your computer, providing it is not a huge file, it is sent to the computer recycle bin. There is usually an icon on your desktop that will allow you to open your recycle bin and see the file in there. If you have gone to that extra step of deleting the file from the recycle bin, then this is when we are faced with this situation of trying to figure out how to recover deleted files. Here is a basic tutorial on how to recover a deleted file from your recycle bin.
Even when you have deleted a file from the recycle bin it is not really gone. Windows simply marks the file as deleted, and waits for the space to be overwritten by another file needing the space, for it really to be deleted. If you didn’t format or defrag the drive the file may possibly be there for years to come. This is what happened with my D drive.
People often have to buy a program that will recover deleted files and photos, because that’s how desperate they are to retrieve their precious data..
Well this is your lucky day because you have actually hit the jackpot by finding this fantastic free program called Recuva. I know I was ecstatic when I found it and actually rerecover deleted filescovered my irreplaceable family photos that I had accidentally deleted from the recycle bin. I seriously thought that it would not work, because after all, it is a free program after all. More details are available on our freeware page.
“Recuva (pronounced “recover”) is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!” Quoted from the Recuva website, it just sounded too good to be true.

When can you use Recuva to recover deleted files free?

  • When you have recently accidentally deleted a file, photo, or picture from your computer you can use Recuva to recover deleted files.
  • You can recover deleted pictures free when you haven’t used your computer too much and overwritten the deleted file.
  • When this program says “No overwritten clusters detected” and that the file is in Excellent state after scanning your drive.

When can’t you use Recuva to recover deleted files free?

  • When you have been formatting a hard drive you will not be able to recover deleted pictures free because the files would have been overwritten.
  • Sometimes if you have defragged your computer. In my tests, after defragging my hard drive I could not recover deleted pictures free as they were then damaged. At this point you would need a professional data recovery service.
  • If the program says the file has overwritten clusters. If you are trying to recover deleted pictures free using Recuva and you see the files have a red dot next to it, that’s not good.

Recover deleted files – What are the results from my tests with Recuva?

Data Recovery - 100% Guaranteed Success
  • I have two hard drives and scanned both. One is C drive and one is D drive. C drive is the main hard drive and D is storage. Nearly all the files that showed up were available for recovery.
  • D drive had very old files show up. Half the stuff I could hardly remember because I had been storing files on there for a few years.
  • C drive had less as I had recently formatted it, but all the recent deleted filed were available. Therefore I could recover deleted files easily, well the ones available.
  • Then I decided to defrag C: and then scan it again. This definitely reduced the number of files that were in Excellent condition to recover. It probably overwrote 75% of files by defragging.
  • I was amazed at what it actually recovered. It had every little thing that had been stored in my internet history, cookies, and other stuff that you thought would have been gone. It was almost scary how much detail this program went in to. All this from a free program.

Notes on how to recover deleted files:

  • Files that has Excellent state and with the comment No overwritten clusters detected can be recovered.
  • You should always recover deleted files to another hard drive as you might overwrite the file your are trying to recover.
  • You can also recover deleted files and photos from your camera storage card! How great is that?
  • This program is totally free and is made be the same guys that made Ccleaner. Their programs do no nag you to upgrade and they have no spyware contained in them. All they have is a donation button on their site. So if you find this free program handy then go and give these guys a donation.
  • You can also try The World Leader in Data Recovery Software! No Recovery, No Charge!
Also watch the video below to see how to recover deleted files, photos, and pictures.

Clear Internet Browser Cache

If you are needing to clear Internet browser cache you must be experiencing some of the annoying problems that it can cause. Browser cache can make you think you are in a time warp or maybe even going crazy. You might experience a sense of deja vu when browsing the internet as you might be shown cached pages that can serve you yesterdays news. This means that if a website is updated you seriously could be viewing an old version.
I often have to clear internet browser cache as I work on websites and cannot see the updates I have made until I clear the cache.

What is Internet browser cache?

Internet browser cache is really the same as the Temporary Internet Files folder.
It is a collection records form your internet browsing sessions. This includes images, sounds, cookies, webpages, and more. If you inspected these files you would be shocked to see that even a mere favicon from a website you might visit is collected.
Please also checkout what is a cookie and delete website history.

Why is the Internet browser cache stored?

You are probably wondering why the hell we need to store all this junk when browsing the internet? I sometimes think this as well, however if these files were not stored you would definitely slow your internet browsing down. These files are stored in your cache to make web browsing faster. The items stored in the temporary internet folder can be accessed quicker than downloading the same thing over and over. For example certain elements of a website that you visit often will be stored to ensure a smoother experience.Clear Internet Browser Cache

Why do you need to clear internet browser cache?

  • Viewing old versions of websites
  • Your internet browsing is struggling
  • Your cache is full

how to cut, copy and paste text or pictures

When you learn to cut, copy and paste text or pictures you will be able to move a text or picture from one place to another. You will also be able to copy pictures and text from the internet to save on your computer. There are so many benefits to learning how to cut copy and paste. Watch this video tutorial to see for yourself.
The first question that everyone asks is what is the difference between Cut and Copy?
1.  Cut is when you remove the file, text, or graphic from its position and paste it in another location. This means that you have removed the file, text, image form the original location and you must paste it somewhere. I do not recommend a person new to computers using the CUT feature. To copy something is a much safer option.
2.  Copy is when you copy the file, text, or image, and then place a copy of it in another location. This means that the original still exists.
The next question is if I do not paste the file, text, or image, will it be lost?
If you copy a file and then forget to paste it down somewhere, and then copy a new file, you will be carrying the new file and the old file copy will be gone. If you have just copied a file though, the original will still be in the original location.
If you cut a file and forget to paste it down, depending on what version of Windows you are using, your file will be returned to the original location or you will get a warning message. If you are on the older versions of Windows your file could possibly be lost. These things happen and this is why it is best to copy and not cut until you are experienced enough to know whats going on. Check out more computer basics articles to help you learn everything you need to know about using your computer.
Here is a full written tutorial on How to cut, copy and paste Text or pictures.

Learning how to cut, copy and paste takes practice and if you are not good at it you will need to do it a few more times to get used to it.

  2. Real Alternative atau QuickTime Alternative – Sebelum YouTube, Real Player dan QuickTime adalah pimpinan multimedia di internet.

Disabling Windows Vista and 7 Login at Startup

When you start your Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer, by default the system makes you enter your password to log in. Here’s a way to get around it.
When you first install Vista or 7 and start using it, you are required to enter in a password for your account. But after that, you’re not really given a choice to remove the password if you don’t want it. You’re just sort of stuck typing it in every time and that can get old rather quickly!
If you’re not the only one who uses your computer, consider leaving it this way. It is a good security feature and it helps to keep all of the different accounts, files and preferences separate from each other. But if you’re the only one who ever uses your computer, you should be able to get rid of the password prompt if you want.
If you’d like to bypass the Windows Vista and 7 log on process and remove your password, just follow these steps:
  1. Go to Start, Control Panel.
  2. Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
  3. Next, click on the User Accounts link.
  4. Under the “Make changes to your user account” section, click on the Remove Your Password link for your account.
  5. On the next screen that comes up, enter in your current password.
  6. Click on the Remove Password button to confirm everything.
  7. Close out of all the open windows and restart your computer. That will allow you to test the system to make sure your password really was removed.
From now on, when you start up your Vista computer, you will be taken to your desktop automatically and you will no longer have to worry about a password.

How to connect two computers to a broadband modem

If you have a broadband modem or one that is supplied from your internet service provider (ISP) you can most probably connect two computers to it without needing a router. If you look at the picture of my modem below, it has a USB (blue) and a ETHERNET (yellow) port. Of course there are many other ways to connect two computers together to share files or an internet connection, however this article is about connecting two computers to one modem.
My service provider, Telstra Australia, supplied this modem to me. It came with an installation disc, which you should use to connect to the modem through the USB.
connect two computers
Now if you do not have a router, but have a similar modem to the one shown, you can connect two computers off the one broadband modem and thus both accessing the internet.
One computer can connect through the USB port and the other through the Ethernet.
A USB cable and and Ethernet cable come with the modem, however to connect the second computer you may need to buy a longer Ethernet cable. Get a blue cable.. NOT yellow or red. The blue one is a CROSSOVER cable, the others will be PATCH cables. They have the same connections on them but do entirely different jobs. (this colour coding applies in Australia, I don’t know about other countries.)

How to connect two computers to one broadband modem?

In this tutorial I will show you how to connect two computers to the same broadband modem.

What do you need to connect two computers?

  1. You will need two computers to connect to one modem.
  2. You will need an ethernet cable and a USB cable.
  3. You will need a modem similar to the one pictured above.
  4. You will need an internet connection.
  5. You will need an installation CD to install through USB connection.
To connect a computer to a broadband modem through USB, it is recommended that you use the installation cd. It will ask you to choose how you want to connect and you select USB. Make sure you know your user name and password for your internet service provider.
To connect the second computer to the same modem but through the Ethernet, just plug it in…It usually works straight away. If it does not, use the installation cd, but choose to connect with Ethernet.

Top 10 Tips to Protect Yourself Against Computer Viruses

When your computer gets infected with a virus it can be a devastating experience and this is exactly why you need to protect your computer from viruses. A virus can consume your precious computer files and even damage your computer hardware. Is this worth ignoring? I don’t think so! Even sites like www.lifelock.com will tell you the same. Anything you can do when protecting your computer from viruses has to be a good thing and is well worth spending your time on. We all know prevention is better than a cure so I am going to share my top 10 tips on how to protect your computer from viruses.

10 Tips to Protect your Computer from viruses

There are many ways to protect your computer from nasty viruses invading. Protecting your computer is an number one concern for every computer user on earth. I do not know anyone that wants to have their computer crash due to a virus invasion. Here are 10 ways to protect your computer  from viruses and keep your files and data safe.

1. Learn about viruses

The first thing that I recommend is to research and become knowledgeable about viruses. How can you protect your computer from viruses if you don’t even know what they are. Here are some previous tutorials I have written about viruses. See What is a Virus and how do I know if I have one? and What is the difference between a virus, spyware, Malware, and adware? How can you protect your computer from viruses if you don’t know what it is?

2. Arm yourself with the best Anti-virus software to suit your needs.

Not everyone can get away with using free Anti-virus software because it depends what you do on your computer. It depends on factors such as if you download files or not, if you open email attachments, and if you surf suspicious websites. See my reviews for the best Virus Removal Software. Lets face it, if you do not have protection against viruses installed on your computer, you will without a doubt, get a virus within the first hour of surfing the internet. It is that easy. For years I would remove a virus from my dads computer at least once a year, until finally I realized that he needed a paid Anti-virus program. He wasn’t good with computers and if a windows popped up and said he needed to take a scan, he would just do it. He would just presume it was the program I had installed to protect his computer. Now I have installed PC Matic on this computer and there has not been one problem since. This program offers full protection along with full computer maintenance. It never asks him to do anything and just works in the background silently.
If you currently have no protection or maintenance software I highly recommend you grab a free scan with PC Maticprotect your computer from viruses to see what it can do for you.

3. Regular Updates

Having a great Anti-virus program installed on your computer to protect your computer from viruses is great, however if you do not regularly update the virus definitions, then the program is useless. New viruses are produced daily and this is why we constantly have to update the viruses definitions and stay ahead of the bad guys. Most programs will update by itself as long as you haven’t turned this option off by accident. This is definitely something you should check.

4. Downloading

When surfing the internet avoid websites that contain illegal software downloads, sexual references, free screensavers, cracks or serials, etc. I am sure you get the picture. If you go near these sites you are immediately asking for trouble. Some other websites that you should stay away from include foreign websites where you cannot understand the language on them. This is because you cannot tell what is on the website. This is definitely included in the top 10 internet safety tips.

5. Windows Updates

Always update Windows when protecting your computer. These updates contain security updates that will help in your fight against viruses. If you do not perform regular Windows updates you are leaving your computer in a vulnerable state. You can simple check to see if your computer needs updates by going to he start menu and typing in “windows update”. See the screen shot below. You can also view recent Windows update history so you can be in control of the whole situation.

6. Opening Emails

Be careful when opening emails. There are obvious emails that you know you shouldn’t open, however what about the ones you get from people you know? What if your friend has a virus and it is spreading itself through emails? An email cannot be important enough to risk getting a virus. Delete the email and send a fresh email to your friend asking them if they actually did send you the email. It is better to be safe than sorry. :(
You can also create a whitelist so only certain emails get through. You will still have to be careful though, as you do not know what security the sender has installed on their computer. It’s like driving on the road, you need to watch how others are driving to stay safe.

7. Change your settings to protect your computer from viruses

If you are really serious about protecting your computer you can change your email settings and receive text emails only. You can also disable the ability to open email attachments. Virus travel in HTML enabled emails and file attachments. They cannot travel in text email messages. I know this sounds very boring, however, I would rather be boring and protect my computer from viruses.

8. Peer to Peer file sharing – ways to protect your computer

Do not use peer to peer (p2p) file sharing programs. These include programs such as Limewire, Bearshare, Gnutella, Morpheus, Torrents, etc. These programs let you download files from other computer users connected to their program network. You have no way of knowing what you are actually downloading until it is on your computer.
Even if you share files from a cd from a friend, it may have a virus. Protecting your computer from viruses is the most important priority for you and you do not want to risk your computer safety just because you trust your friend.

9. Do not download files from websites

Again, there is no way of knowing what you are downloading. The file can appear to be named like the file you want, however it could be anything. Most of the time, this is how a virus is unleashed, it usually seems like a harmless, familiar object. If you are looking for a driver for a certain brand of computer then make sure you are getting the download from the genuine website. Many websites on the Internet offer free driver downloads, however, many of them contain viruses. Everything is not what it seems, so be very careful.

10. Have Firewall Protection

Make sure you have a firewall enabled on your computer. Windows comes with an inbuilt firewall or you can use a third party firewall program like Zone Alarm. Either way, make sure the firewall is on…To check the Windows Firewall go to the security settings in your control panel.
If you are careful and are serious about learning how to protect your computer from viruses, it is possible to stay safe. My top 10 tips will help you keep your computer running smoothly, and virus free.

Notes on tips to protect your computer from viruses:

  • These 10 ways to protect your computer from viruses are extremely important tips to follow. If you have had a virus in the past you would know how devastating it is when you lose all of your files and your computer crashes.
  • People often try to install more than one anti-virus program to protect their computers from viruses. This is not how to protect your computer from viruses as installing more than one program always causes a problem. You can only install one virus removal program at any one time.
Please share how you protect your computer from viruses as I know there are many more ways to protect your computer?

8 Langkah Jitu Menghindari Spam
